It’s with a heavy heart that I’m writing to you not from a cosy little room by the sea but from my (admittedly cozy) little couch situated in cold and rainy Bristol. We had the most lovely weekend in Bournemouth, thanks to Travelodge and I think I’ve felt a bit glum by comparison since we got back!
As you can tell from my archives, Ryan and I love to get out and explore the bits of England that we can get to by train or bus! When Travelodge offered us a two night stay, we pounced on the opportunity and decided on a place that we’d never been together and, despite the weather, is close to the water.
I was really blown away by how roomy and comfortable everything was upon arrival! We’ve had a few lackluster hotel stays in the last few months, so it was nice to be met with a warm, huge room with a view of the ocean! I’m a sucker for blackout curtains but I was very tempted to leave the windows bare in the hopes that we’d get woken up to a gorgeous view of the sun rising over the water!
After we unpacked and tucked into warm clothes, we went out to explore a bit to catch the sunset and map out our game plan for the second day! I (per usual) have a stack of photos that I can’t wait to show you!
I’d had a really busy week leading up to our trip and man was I rewarded with a good night’s sleep! We were really pleased with the cleanliness and comfort level (and hey, the prices aren’t bad, either!) and will absolutely be making it a point to head back. Considering that we were just steps from the water, we really couldn’t have asked for a better location!
Before we left, we enjoyed a yummy breakfast (and bottomless coffees! joy!) downstairs in the restaurant and it really ticked all of the boxes. Food? Good! Service? Amazing! (In fact, the staff might been one of the best parts of our stay. I can’t shower them with enough praise!) We left feeling full and happy and so relaxed.
(Ryan would just like to add that he really liked the bay windows, which I, too, enjoyed!)
