I’ve been back and forth to London so much lately – not as much as last year at this time but still enough to miss my own bed more than I’d like – that I’m thankful that all my travel has bunched up around these weeks leading up to Christmas. London is always alive, but there is something so charming and energetic about the city when it lights up to ring in this season.
Luckily, between appointments and family time, I got to sneak in some friend time with a few girlfriends that I haven’t had the chance to see in ages. One of them, the beautiful and oh so talented Maxeen, joined me for a few laps around Winter Wonderland last week. Highlight? The carousel (complete with horses!) that was fashioned into a bar right in the center of the action. It rotated just fast enough to be cool, but not fast enough to send anyone into a dizzy state. Quite the fine line, considering alcohol is involved!
Bristol has some great Christmas markets, but I’ve got to hand it to London, they know how to throw around the sparkle and really show you a good time!
This will likely be the last trip to London for me for 2015, and it couldn’t have ended on a higher note. Even though life can be so hectic, making time for family and friends has a way of making all of the stress melt away (at least momentarily)!
This last trip to the city has filled me up with so much cheer and readiness to wind down with work obligations and ramp up the festiveness back at home. I’ve pulled out some of my favorite winter recipes and can’t wait to settle down and settle in to cozy nights by the tree with Ryan.
