Whenever we travel, we try to see and do (and eat!) as much as possible. That generally means trying a variety of restaurants and sampling a bit of everything. But, whenever we are in one spot for more than a few days we inevitably end up with a favorite spot that we just have to experience more than once! In Santorini, that place was Tranquilo Bar in Perissa.
This restaurant, right on the beach, is bursting with color and the food is bursting with flavor. I’m generally a bit turned off by places that try too hard to have a beach vibe, but Tranquilo hit all of the marks without being cheesy. The atmosphere was relaxed and our waitress heard our orders and in the nicest way possible directed us away from what we were after and towards meals that we’d enjoy even more. I discovered that I’m in love with Briam (which I’m going to try at home once we’re in the new house) and Ryan had a mixed vegetable wrap that was filling and healthy. The side of thick-cut chips were maybe not so healthy but…bygones!
Amongst the places to eat on the beach, I’d rate Tranquilo as the most genuine, the best food, and the best service!
