Even though we’re just a short train ride away from Bath, we like to stay overnight every so often when we need a bit of an escape from Bristol. It’s so lovely to hop into a huge, plush bed, order room service, and watch awful reality TV that you’d never admit to watching at home! (I hope other people do this? Just us?)
Originally built as seven separate townhouses, the building was joined in the 19th century and is currently part of the MGallery Collection. It counts Jane Austen (!!!) among former guests and oozes personality! Ryan had to stop me from wandering off to admire the decoration every time we came in or out!
Our stay included breakfast, and, well, you know how much we like breakfast! I went for Eggs Royale, and Ryan had a bit of everything. This was not just your standard hotel offering – everything was cooked to perfection and after about three too many coffees each, we were full and ready to face the day!
We really couldn’t have been happier with our stay. (Blackout curtains do it for me every single time. There’s nothing like sleeping in, blissfully unaware that the sun even exists!) The hotel is located just next to Queen Square, so it’s really close to everything you’ll want to see in Bath: The Royal Theatre, The Roman Baths, the shops. You name it, it’s not more than 10 minutes away! I think the only thing that we would have changed about our stay would have been to extend it a bit!
