Happy Friday, guys!
I’ve been holding off on posting this week because nearly every photograph that I’ve taken lately has involved ornaments or tinsel or wrapping paper. While it’s not too early for Christmas in my house, I’ll stick to my US roots and hold off on spewing my Christmas cheer all over the internet (more than I already have) until after Thanksgiving!
This weekend coming up is so, so welcome. It’s been a very long week. It’s Harvard-Yale weekend, so I’ve been haunting the postman while waiting for him to deliver our gear for the game, and the sun looks like it’s planning to stay out so hopefully we’ll have some good weather to watch Yale get their asses handed to them!
I’ll get on with the links, since that’s what you’re here for! There’s not an overwhelming amount of stuff here this week, so I won’t break them down.
+ The Photo Hunt Blog has launched! We’ll be posting a series sort of like this one over there, but filled with photography related links, so make sure you check it out later today and then every Friday!
+ I’m wary of articles like this because treating depression takes a hell of a lot more than chomping down on a banana, but then I read the first comment and LOLed: “Also bananas can wear pajamas.” Perfect.
+ I was reading an article recently about how there’s maybe a national death wish (or at least a lack of a safety meter) among the people of Russia, and now I’m thinking maybe that extends to the region. Is that…a sport? A hybrid of cheerleading and gymnastics?? It’s amazing, but I have so many questions.
+ Did I mention that it’s Harvard-Yale weekend? BECAUSE THIS IS FANTASTIC.
+ Every year of your 20s, ranked from worst to best. I win!
+ Even though my party animal days are behind me, this is cool news.
+ A little HTML cheat sheet for your blogging needs!
+ You’ll never hear me say a nice thing about FSU with the exception of: this is beautiful.
+ These sorts of things pop up now and then and I love them every time.
+ How gorgeous is this calendar?
+ I’m not eeeeeeven going to touch this. Presenting without commentary.
+ ‘The Best Man Holiday’ and the Language of Expectations.
+ Okay, my ovaries are on fire!
+ Allie’s post really got me thinking about my friendships and how they’ve changed since I left the US. Connecting is definitely something that I struggle with but am really committed to working on moving forward.
+ Lindsay saves the day for anyone who has had to deal with an unraveling sweater at work!
+ Angel has a wonderful roundup of blogging tips.
+ Thanks for making me cry, Bobbi Tall. Love you!
+ Love love love this: Deconstructing the Frances Ha Poster.
+ I really want this! I have no need for it, since I can’t draw, but I really want it!
+ Dawson on becoming famous in 1998.
+ Also from Vulture: 15 one hit wonders from 1998.
+ The Broke and the Bookish on 10 book covers they wish they could redesign.
+ And again, Kate shows why she’s one of the most incredible bloggers/writers. I have a lot of thoughts about saying “sorry” for really no reason, but she pretty much sums up most of them in a better way than I could have!
+ Also, some elliquent (see what I did there?) thoughts on saying “no”.
Happy Friday! Go Harvard! Beat Yale!
