After we wrapped up the ceremony and I changed into my kicks, we grabbed cotton candy and champagne with our guests and chilled while we waited for the rain clouds to pass. Pretty much the second that they did, we ran outside with Cassie and shot our bridal portraits. I felt so lucky that I’ve known Cassie for basically forever in internet years, so we had almost an unspoken shorthand when going for the shots. I tried not to be a diva and she made us both feel so comfortable. Since she’s amazingly professional and talented, we were able to focus on enjoying those first few moments post-ceremony while getting the shots we knew that we’d want to look back on for years to come. Her partner accompanied her on the trip out to shoot our wedding, so we had a built-in bonus assistant, drink holder, flower thrower, and awesome person to help make things go smoothly.
If you’re at all curious, while my bridesmaid bouquets were all real flowers, I actually can barely stand holding real flowers. So, my bouquet was made up of real greenery but silk flowers. It was the best for me in terms of compromise so that I wouldn’t be squeamish throughout the entire day!
That red sign behind us? That’s where we had our engagement dinner!
After we shot a bit around Bristol, we (me, Ryan, Cassie, and her boo) piled into the limo and followed the party bus full of our guests to Bath. We toasted to basically everything under the sun and got ourselves into party mode!
We ran into weather problems in Bath as well, but even after moving a few things around, we miraculously were on schedule to the point that I thought our vendors were going to die of shock. Granted, I had things planned to the minute and supplied infographics to everyone…but hey! An on-time wedding? That’s gotta be rare!
I think one of my favorite parts of the day was just getting to be silly and have fun with our favorite people. As is evidenced in the photos!
That up there? Probably my favorite photo of all time!
Remind me one day to tell you guys about how I danced to Trap Queen with my mother-in-law at the reception. It was epic. 😉
We had the best day ever with the best people ever. I’m so grateful for all of the family and friends that were able to celebrate with us (and for those who weren’t but whose love was felt all day). I sometimes can’t believe that I get to do life with all of these wonderful people…and yet. 🙂
Happy Thursday, friends! Hope you enjoyed seeing a little bit of our day!
