I know that I’m going to get into trouble for saying this, but I spent four full weeks in Miami without going to the beach.
Or even the pool.
I (stupidly) scheduled a lot of work while I was home, and on top of baby showers, weddings, and trying not to melt, I just didn’t get around to it.
Luckily, the weather in our part of England was spectacular upon my return, and having taken a few days off of work to spend time with me, Ryan suggested that we hop on a train and head to the sea side!
Weston-super-Mare is definitely more family-friendly than the beaches that I’m used to (think less thong bikinis + margaritas and more hot dogs and arcades) and it’s oozing with charm (and a bit of nostalgia, I would imagine, if you grew up around beaches like this).
The area has quite a bit of history (which you can read about here) and the Pier itself has even burned down twice, most recently in 2008!
I have more photos from the day that I’ll share with you tomorrow!
