Here’s the thing about Alcudia in general and certain all-inclusive destinations in particular: some vacation ‘experiences’ are absolutely geared towards older crowds or families with small kids. You know those places that seem to spring into existence for the sole purpose of housing and entertaining tourists? Alcudia is a bit like that. It was lovely and we had a great time, but everything was so touristy. Everything. I don’t think I met one person whose job didn’t have anything to do with selling me something.
We knew this going into the holiday, and honestly, since what we wanted to do was relax and turn our brains off, this was really the perfect location for us. But know if you’re planning on going to this particular city as a couple and aren’t into tourist trap-like tours and excursions, you’ll spend most of your time poolside or beachside with a big glass of sangria (or Duff Beer) to pass your time. Like I said, this was perfect for us on this particular holiday, but it was very different from the way we usually travel and I don’t know how likely we are to go the all-inclusive route in the future.
That said, man did we eat and drink well. I know for a fact that I added some happy weight to my stress weight (I’m still too frightened to get on a scale, but my hips aren’t lying), but who can say ‘no’ to delicious sushi and paella?
Nobody. Unless you’re a robot. Or someone who hates good food.
Clearly, we’re neither of those types of people. 😉
