I know that we’ve just gotten back, but let’s go on another little adventure, shall we?
Right on the heels of Italy, Ryan surprised me with a mini getaway to Cheltenham! I was told to pack a change of clothes and a smile and we were off! I’ve got to admit, even when he told me the name of our destination at the train station, I still had no idea where we were going. But! We’ve got a bit of a history of me just blindly getting on trains or planes for surprise trips so I knew it would be fun! After a quick and easy journey, we found ourselves in what has now become one of my favorite little towns!
Hungry (as always), we dropped our bags off and headed out in search of food. Our watering hole of choice? The Circus Bar! This place was so charming (and warm!) and had fantastic staff. The drinks and food were excellent as well and we spent half of our meal discussing all the future meals that we’d love to have there!
After we stuffed our faces, we headed out for a walk around the town (and ended up in the company of even more food) and caught up with ourselves after all the hustle and bustle of traveling. Cheltenham is my idea of a perfect, calming getaway. Allegedly there’s a nightlife scene there as well, but we were asleep by 8pm (no regrets!) and will have to discover that another time!
