As we’ve done every Easter for the last few years, Ryan and I rented a house with my sister and her fiancé for a mini-break over the long weekend. Last year we went to Lyme Regis and the year before we went to Devon – a particular highlight of that trip being the Donkey Sanctuary). I say that with no sarcasm in my heart, it was honestly one of the best parts of the trip. If you’re in the area, make sure you stop by!
This year it was Ryan’s turn to do the planning, and I think he hit it out of the park! We rented The Buckstone Coach House in Staunton and (even though I was in a bit of a haze the whole time as I was coming off of the Supreme Tweeter launch) I can’t recommend it enough. The house and grounds were absolutely beautiful and it was the perfect backdrop to do nothing but eat, sleep, and read. (OK and work and worry about work and wedding plan, ugh.)
We took day trips (more on that soon!), made carbonara from scratch, had a beautiful Easter breakfast, and got to spend a little down time before our family’s wedding season kicks off (four weddings in one year!). There was a lot that we didn’t get to see because we were so concerned with table numbers and reception layouts, but I’m hoping that we can take a trip back soon with no distractions!
