We’re deep into wedding season now, aren’t we, folks? Since our wedding in April, it seems that we’re celebrating someone at least every other week! Which is GREAT because – as I’ve stated in this space before – I LOVE love. Love it.
I also love getting to capture my friends experiencing special moments. Whether that’s a birthday party, an engagement, or even just a good laugh at a party, I always pat myself on the back for bringing my camera almost everywhere I go because getting that moment is such a big thrill for me.
When my friend Anna mentioned that she was having trouble finding a photographer for the second day of her wedding weekend, I jumped at the chance to have a sanctioned reason to bring my gear to a wedding! We were already going as guests and I knew this was a way that I could help a friend out, give her a kick ass gift, and get to do something that I love all in one go.
Anna and Sam poured so much love and excitement into their weekend and it really showed. This was my first time attending a wedding that was more than one day much less something akin to Glastonbury, but it was an AMAZING event. The food, the props, the BOUNCE HOUSE, the face painting, the hog roast, and every other unique detail came together to create an event that was really extraordinary.
While in the field we had camping and a marquee, the barn was reserved for dancing and revelry later on in the night. I mean, look at this space! Incredible, right?!
I should (and probably have in the past) mention that I am not an outdoors girl. I can’t do bugs, swamps, dingos…I just…can’t. I definitely got my mind blown by the weekend and while I don’t think I’ll be full on camping any time soon, I can see the appeal and think that it made for a wedding weekend to remember. The atmosphere was just so charged with love and excitement and that’s a pretty spectacular thing to be a part of!
We were blessed with sunshine, so naturally that meant that the cider and bubbles were flowing all day. The English really know how to take advantage of any sliver of good weather!
Earlier in the day there was a “cheese cake” that blew the guests socks off. Little did any of us know that there would be a MASTERPIECE coming out later! The cake was made by a friend of the bride and it was absolutely stunning and a perfect centerpiece for the reception on the second night.
You can probably tell from all the food photos that everyone had to put their stretchy pants on by the end of the weekend. That’s one of the keys to a great wedding, right? Stuff your guests until you’ve got to roll them out the door? 😉
^^ #couplegoals right there, right?!
There is next to no danger of me pursuing wedding photography full time, but I so enjoyed capturing these memories for Anna and Sam. I’m wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness and all good things in this world.
Thanks for having us, guys!
And Happy Tuesday!
