We didn’t spend a ton of time in Plymouth, but we made the most of it. After working up quite the appetite with our morning train journey and exploring, we checked in to our hotel and realized we were starving. We had reservations for dinner and didn’t want to spoil our appetite, but by 2pm we had to eat something to keep our sanity. (Ryan and I are both the type of people who start HULK SMASHING things when we’re low on fuel. It’s kind of hilarious, but uh…not to be toyed with. Food was essential.) We popped into The Berkley and split a burger and calamari. (Okay, and some adult drinks!)
On our last day, we made a bee-line for The National Marine Aquarium! I’m not even joking when I say that the joy on Ryan’s face could only be equaled by a little kid opening presents on Christmas morning. Adorable, thy name is Ryan.
We strolled around for a few hours, got some food and smoothies to make sure we were properly fed for the journey home, and said our goodbyes to Plymouth!
Ryan wasn’t the only one with surprises this weekend! I got him a Kindle for his years of putting up with me and loaded it with a few of our favorites (the complete Harry Potter and Hunger Games series), soon-to-be favorites (the Game of Thrones books), and a few books I’ve been trying to get him to read for ages (The Night Circus, 11/22/63, and The Fault in Our Stars). Judging by how many times I’ve heard, “Give me a few minutes, I just want to finish this chapter,” since then, it’s safe to say I’ve created a monster!
